Gramophone praises Cantatas from the Czech Highlands

Prague Philharmonic Choir with Lukáš Vasilek are enjoying another appreciation of their album released by Supraphon with the support of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation. The last year‘s recording with four cantatas from the Czech Highlands (Legend of the smoke from potato fires, The Opening of the Wells, The Romance of the Dandelions and Mikes of the Mountains) based on the currently prepared critical edition (ed. Vít Zouhar) was recently reviewed by prestigious magazine Gramophone.

„I cannot imagine these cantatas being better performed or recorded than here; Lukáš Vasilek is an outstanding conductor, and the Prague Philharmonic Choir respond to his every interpretative intuition. Very highly recommended.“ Ivan Moody on last year’s album
