The Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition
The main goals of the Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition are to stimulate interest in Martinů's whole output on the part of a broad range of researchers, provide them a sound basis for their work, and offer a detailed and thorough view of the composer's compositional process over a long period of time.
The first volumes of The Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition (Souborné vydání děl Bohuslava Martinů, Bohuslav Martinů-Gesamtausgabe, Edition intégrale des oeuvres de Bohuslav Martinů) are expected to be published in 2010-11. This will be a scholarly, historical-critical edition of Martinů's works (of all complete and incomplete compositions in all versions and arrangements made by or authorized by the composer, and of all contiguous compositional fragments, sketches in single lines and short-score format), based on all the preserved sources-autographs, manuscript copies, and prints as well as film, pictorial, and sound documents. It is intended in part for the needs of performance practice and will be guided by the newest methods of textual criticism and philology.
