Gala Concert for the 30th Anniversary of the BMI

As part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the Bohuslav Martinů Institute, a gala evening will be held at the Municipal Library in Prague, bringing the year-long project Martinů Walks Through Prague to a close.

The lecture Martinů and His Prague Research Center: History, Mission, and Stories will present traces of Bohuslav Martinů's life in Prague and provide a detailed look at the founding, development, and significance of the Bohuslav Martinů Institute in Prague. Listeners will learn how the center contributes to research into the life and work of Bohuslav Martinů, his international recognition, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The lecture will include specific stories from archival research, examples of unique documents, and personal experiences with the Institute's publishing, exhibition, and educational activities. Emphasis will be placed on the connection between the Czech research environment and international musicology, as well as the successes in making Martinů accessible to the world. The lecture is suitable for both a professional audience and those interested in cultural history and inspiring professional stories.
