After many years, Wrocław Opera wants to commemorate the exceptional opera Juliette. It was last performed in Poland in 1978 in Łódź.
Juliette is a three-act opera based on a play by French playwright and poet Georges Neveux. Set between dream and reality, the story follows the fate of Michel, a Parisian bookseller who is haunted by a mysterious night vision of a woman named Juliette. Her voice accompanies him in his dreams and while awake, and when he searches for her in the real world, he encounters the inhabitants of a city afflicted by a strange form of amnesia – people can only remember the last ten minutes. In his search for the girl, Michel encounters various strange characters, until he finally comes across the Juliette of his dreams, who appears to him as the ideal of unattainable femininity.
