Martinů fest 2018

From May 6, 21st Martinů fest 2018 will take place in Polička. Apollon Quartet, the Prague Castle Guard and Police Orchestra, soprano Gabriela Beňačková or pianist Karel Košárek will perform works mostly by Bohuslav Martinů. The festival will begin with a commemorative act at the Bohuslav Martinů’s grave and with the opening concert at Tyl House, where Martinů's Opening of the Springs will be performed.

Within the 21st year of the festival Youth and Bohuslav Martinů competition organized by the Bohuslav Martinů Elementary Art School will take place in Polička, which will be winded up with a concert of the best participants at Tyl House on May 4. On May 23, visitors of the festival will be able to see unique collection of Bohuslav Martinů's letters to Frank Rybka from 1941-1959, which was donated to Bohuslav Martinů Center in Polička by Rybka's children in the past months and subsequently transferred from the USA.
