Jakub Hrůša's debut with Berliner Philharmoniker in reviews

At the three concerts from October 11th to 13th, conductor Jakub Hrůša conducted for the first time the Berliner Philharmoniker. President of the International Martinů Circle chose to perform Czech program, with the Martinů's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 naturally being in the spotlight, also because of the renowned soloist Frank Peter Zimmermann. Music reviewers (The Classical Source, Harmonie and KlasikaPlus.cz) praised the performance almost without objections.

„Frank Peter Zimmermann gave a spotless music-focussed performance – the high-lying writing might have been a problem but wasn’t – and the accompaniment was alert and colourful. There may be fewer fingerprints to suggest this music as being by Martinů, but it is very likeable.“ Colin Anderson (The Classical Source) - Berliner Philharmoniker/Jakub Hrůša –Frank Peter Zimmerman plays Martinů

Czech reviews:
"This Martinů was great, stylish. (...) It was splendid.“ Markéta Vejvodová (Harmonie) - Jakub Hrůša si podmanil Berlínské filharmoniky

[Frank Peter Zimmermann] showed an understanding for the accents of the author's music. Without shame, he can be called "Martinů-ish violinist!“ Jan Průša (KlasikaPlus.cz) - Berlínští filharmonici poprvé s Jakubem Hrůšou
