The concert is part of the 40th Internationales Musikfest and is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
Under the musical direction of Jakub Hrůša, it will be one of the rare performances of one of Bohuslav Martinůs late orchestral works and, indeed, the first ever performance of a symphony by his younger contemporary Miloslav Kabeláč at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Hrůša is currently preparing a complete recording of Kabeláč's eight symphonies with the Vienna RSO.
