The gala concert follows up on last year’s collaboration between the Bajkalská Music School and the Bohuslav Martinů Institute as part of the traveling exhibition Martinů Walks Through Prague. Students and teachers from this school provided the musical program at the exhibition’s opening at three branches of the Municipal Library in Prague. The school subsequently organized a competition for its students, which brought them even closer to the life and work of Bohuslav Martinů. The announcement of the winners and the award ceremony will be part of the gala concert.

All of the school’s departments (music, dance, literature and drama, and visual arts) also succeeded in collaborating on a joint project Opening the Wells, a work inspired by the Czech folk custom of cleaning wells in May after the winter has passed.
