Leonard Slatkin, a multiple Grammy Award‑winning conductor and one of the most respected musical figures of his generation, returns to the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. The evening opens with his own composition Schubertiade, presented in its Czech premiere. At Slatkin’s personal request, violinist Josef Špaček performs Bohuslav Martinů’s Violin Concerto No. 1, H 232 – a work that has been enjoying a renewed presence on international stages and stands among the most compelling Czech violin concertos of the 20th century. The programme culminates with Beethoven’s monumental Eroica.
