The opening concert of the 29th edition of the Martinů Fest brings the Rudolfinum Consort to Polička – an ensemble formed by leading wind players of the Czech Philharmonic. The group continues the rich Czech tradition of wind octets and chamber music-making, performing both classical repertoire and new arrangements.

The program will feature Mozart’s brilliant Marriage of Figaro overture, selections from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet arranged for wind octet, Martinů’s Film en miniature, H 148 in a new arrangement by Vojtěch Pacák, and Dvořák’s Serenade Op. 44, one of the finest works for Czech wind ensemble.
