Kalliopé Trio Prague was founded in 2011 at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague by violinist Markéta Vokáčová and cellist Jan Zemen, later joined by pianist Miroslav Sekera. All three members are laureates of international competitions and have established distinguished solo and chamber careers. The ensemble collaborates regularly with the Guarneri Trio Prague and other leading Czech musicians.
Alongside Beethoven’s “Gassenhauer” Trio and Suk’s youthful chamber work, the concert features Halvorsen’s celebrated Passacaglia and Bohuslav Martinů’s Bergerettes, H 275, a cycle full of rhythmic vitality and melodic freshness.
