Čarotaj is an ensemble built around two female voices, bass clarinet, bassoon and violoncello, occasionally complemented by piano. The group focuses on original arrangements of folk songs from the Slovácko and Kopanice regions, treating them with deep respect for their melodic purity, natural simplicity and expressive strength. Their repertoire moves between lyrical and balladic moods on one side and raw, earthy energy on the other.

A distinctive part of the programme consists of songs by Bohuslav Martinů from the cycle Songs on Two Pages, H 302, presented here in new arrangements by Ondřej Roskovec.
