The Pavel Haas Quartet has been nominated for the 2026 Gramophone Awards

An album featuring Bohuslav Martinů’s String Quartets Nos. 2, 3, 5 and 7, performed by the internationally acclaimed Pavel Haas Quartet, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Gramophone Awards! Gramophone, the leading British classical music magazine, has published a list of 66 recordings (six in each of the 11 categories) that have been shortlisted this year for the Gramophone Classical Music Awards, presented in collaboration with Presto Music.

The Pavel Haas Quartet’s album received an outstanding review and was named Gramophone Editor’s Choice in 2025: “The Pavel Haas Quartet offers more than just commercial visibility and a clearer sound on this recording. Their playing is more intense, which generally benefits the music and leads to truly thrilling results in the Fifth Quartet, the masterpiece with which their selection begins… The Pavel Haas Quartet has delivered yet another album that is not to be missed.”

The Pavel Haas Quartet has already won five Gramophone Awards for its recordings of Dvořák, Smetana, Schubert, Janáček and Haas. In 2011, the quartet was awarded the prestigious Gramophone Recording of the Year award for its recording of Dvořák’s String Quartets No. 12 ‘American’ and No. 13.

The list of finalists will be narrowed down to three albums in each category in the October issue of Gramophone magazine, and the winners in each category will be announced at the Gramophone Awards ceremony on 7 October 2026 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
