The closing chamber music concert of the Martinů Festtage 2026 brings together works by Mozart, Morricone and Martinů. Mozart’s String Quintet in G minor stands among the masterpieces of the chamber repertoire, combining dramatic intensity with remarkable emotional depth. The programme continues with Morricones’s Vivo for string trio, offering a glimpse into the composer’s lesser-known chamber music output.
The second half of the concert is devoted entirely to Bohuslav Martinů. His Serenade for two violins and viola combines neoclassical lightness with melodic inventiveness, while the String Quintet from 1927 ranks among the most important chamber works of his Paris years.
The programme is performed by the Pražák Quartet together with violist Amihai Grosz, principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic.
