New CD Bohuslav Martinu Days 2013!

This year, the young, twenty-two year old, violinist Olga Šroubková reached the final round of audition for the concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic. In 2013 she won the Bohuslav Martinu Competition, performing Martinu´s Sonata No. 3 for violin and piano, for which she was also awarded with a special prize for the best interpretation of Bohuslav Martinu work. Her accompanists, Miroslav Sekera, performed the Sonata at the concert of the winners of Bohuslav Martinu Competition with her. The concert was recorded and you will be able to find it in the new CD - Bohuslav Martinu Days 2013.

Apart from a historical recording of the Sonata for viola and piano performed by Lillian Fuchs, one of the finest instrumentalists of her time, the CD also contains unique recording of Tre Ricercari. It is one of the finest Martinů works, which Martinu highly valued and described as "complete, well-made, with perfect polyphony and noble in sound". On this recording you can hear playing the piano Bohuslav Martinů himself!
