Petr Nouzovský with Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra No. 1 on 11 February 2016

On 11 February 2016 at 7.00pm you will have a chance to hear The Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Petr Altrichter and soloist Petr Nouzovský, who received award for winning New Master on Tour 2007, Europäische Förderpreis für Musik 2007 and is a laureate of the Val Tidone Competition 2011 and Johannes Brahms Competition 2013.

The programme of the concert will offer Symphony No. 1 in f minor by Dmitri Shostakovich or Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky´s orchestral tone poem Night on Bald Mountain in arrangement by Rimsky-Korsakov. Petr Nouzovský will then perform Bohuslav Martinů´s Concerto for Violoncello and Orchestra No. 1, H 196 III which was originaly conceived by the composer to be in concerto grosso form.

„It turned out well,“ wrote Bohuslav Martinů in the letter to Miloš Šafránek after he completed the 1st movement of the Concerto in 1930.

Petr Nouzovský collaborates very extensively with The Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra, for instance along with orchestra´s Chief Conductor Tomáš Brauner they recorded thanks to Bohuslav Martinů Foundation in 2014 2 CDs with complete work for violoncello and orchestra by Bohuslav Martinů.
