This publication originated to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of
the Bohuslav Martinů Institute in Prague. We asked the most prominent institutions
entrusted with preserving the legacy of Czech classical composers to give a summary
of their history, activities and current projects. The purpose was to identify what
we have in common, as well as how we differ. This shared experience will help us
to formulate more precisely our objectives for the future, better present our activities
to the professional and non-professional public and more successfully attain our goals
