Exhibition: Zdeněk Zouhar. Composer, Musicologist, Librarian
Moravian Library in Brno prepared exhibition about its former worker, prof. PhDr. Zdeněk Zouhar (1927-2011), who would turn 90 this year. His anniversary will be reminded at the exhibition opening: Zdeněk Zouhar. Composer, Musicologist, Librarian on June 8, 2017. Zouhar was heavily linked with Bohuslav Martinů, in January 1956 he conducted the world premiere of the Opening of the Wells in Polička and later he co-founded the Bohuslav Martinů Society. A lecture called Zdeněk Zouhar. Music composer and promoter of the work of Bohuslav Martinů (21 June at 6 pm) will take place as part of the accompanying program. It will be lectured by Zouhar’s son, music composer and musicologist prof. Vít Zouhar who is the editor of the latest volume of the Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition (four cantatas on texts of Miloslav Bureš).
