Prof. Jaroslav Mihule was given the Bohuslav Martinů Annual Award

At the concert of the Bohuslav Martinů Days Festival, the Bohuslav Martinů Annual Award was awarded to the prominent Czech musicologist Prof. Jaroslav Mihule for his merit in the scientific evaluation and promotion of the composer's work. Jaroslav Mihule is known as the author of publications on Martinů, he worked as a pedagogue and diplomat as well.

The Bohuslav Martinů Annual Award will be awarded annually by the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation to one personality which promoted the name and work of Martinů. The first handover of the award took place during the concert of the Bohuslav Martinů Days Festival on December 10th, where the first clarinetist of the Orchestra de Paris, Philippe Berrod, accompanied by Jana Kopicová, Jan Hudeček and Ivo Kahánek, performer works by Martinů, Auric, Ibert and Poulenc.

Prof. Jaroslav Mihule (* 1. 12. 1930) is a musicologist, pedagogue, diplomat and composer. In his scientific career, he has been engaged in work on Bohuslav Martinů. He wrote, for example, a legendary book Bohuslav Martinů: The Life and Work or most recently, Martinů. The fate of the composer.
