Martinů fest Polička 2022

The 25th year of the traditional Martinů fest Polička festival will take place from 12 to 19 May 2022. The composer's work, but not only his, will be commemorated by a lot of concerts and the accompanying program.

On Thursday, May 12, at 5 pm in the lecture organized by the Náš Martinů society from Polička, its chairman Jaroslav Novotný will present the composer's works, which will be performed at the festival concerts.

On Friday, May 13, at 5 pm, a reverential act is traditionally held at the grave of Bohuslav Martinů. The short program will be performed by the Bohuslav Martinů Men's Choir of Polička. The opening concert will follow at 6 pm, where cellist Natálie Trávníčková will perform Martinů's first cello concerto, accompanied by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra woth the conductor Ondřej Soukup.

Sunday evening, May 15, will belong to the opera recital by the world-famous soprano Gabriela Beňačková with tenor Jakub Pustina, accompanied by the award-winning pianist Marta Vašková. You can look forward to Czech opera arias, Martinů's songs and piano compositions.

On Monday, May 16 at 7 pm, Czech actress Táňa Medvecká and the Kaprálová Quartet will perform a program in honor of Vítězslava Kaprálová.

On Thursday, May 19, at 7 pm, the repertoire of the world and Czech composers will be presented by bass-baritone Boris Prýgl, one of the most talented young singers, accompanied by Marta Vašková.

The entire program of the festival is part of the concert subscription cycle Classical Music and MY 2022.
